My siblings & I were raised with the concept of “Do your best – at the end of the day, that has to be enough.” We were taught to work hard… with excellence… with character… but to realize that at the end of the day, sometimes everything you can do is still not enough for some people. And, that’s okay.
My observations of the day:
—Some people are hypocritical; always expecting YOU to live by the Golden Rule, but not caring one way or another when it applies to them.
—Some people always assume their messes will be cleaned up for them.
—It’s easy to disguise procrastination as chronic optimism.
—Some people can simply be really inconsiderate.
But, truth be told, I guess there’s some of this in each of us… who am I to judge? *whispers* Even though today I’d love to be God’s handmaiden in delivering some much-needed messages to some of these people. *sigh*
But, that’s when I hear my Dad’s voice in my head reminding me… “Ab, just do your best – at the end of the day, that has to be enough. You get up in the morning, and you start over.” My Daddy is so smart.
