Well, this is possibly the longest blogging break i’ve ever taken since this blog’s creation 5 years ago… It hasn’t been on purpose, it’s just gotten moved to the back burner during this season of life. Here’s a little update since my last post in June.
-We are still in a care-taking capacity for my husband’s grandparents and treasuring every moment with them. We moved into their home with them in April and our time with them is something we have never regretted. We are on Month 7 of being here, and the memories made here with them on their little farm have been well worth any uncomfortable growing-pains. Grandpa is a WW2 veteran and he & Grandma have raised 8 children… They are such a source of seasoned wisdom, perspective, and truth for us and embody honor and integrity.
-We are officially homeschooling! We have started a semi-structured homeschooling schedule with our oldest daughter (age 4) and it’s so exciting to see her eagerness to learn! She tends to be pretty Type A, and loves having structure, routines, and schedules… so, we decided it was time to start being purposeful with her learning. She is thriving!
-Weddings, Weddings, Weddings! My husband’s brother and one of my brothers both married their beautiful brides this summer, and my heart is so full of thankfulness to gain two new sisters.
-I’m training for my first half-marathon (it’s now 4 weeks away!) and I’m fully prepared to be the last person across the finish line… I’m also fully okay with that. #ImSoSlow #ButImDeterminedToFinish
-We had the opportunity to sneak away last-minute for some beach time in August with our little family. Vitamin Sea and quality time with each other was definitely just what our souls needed.
The Lord keeps laying the word SIMPLIFY on my heart, and I’m constantly trying to find ways to bring more order and simplicity to this season in our lives. It has involved saying “no” to others more, saying “yes” to being home more, and purging what is no longer needed (physically, materialistically, emotionally, the list goes on). This little blog is such a haven for me, and I hope to pick my regular posts back up soon. ❤
“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
